There is more to France then quality food and fine wine. Folks come from all over to see it's stunning sights. But if you are there at the right time, you'll be in for an even better treat with some of these festivals. So do try to make it in time for all of the fun and festivities.
Cannes Film Festival
If you are looking to get star struck, then make your way to Cannes, South of France, in the merry month of May for the Cannes Film Festival. You will get a chance to watch some great films, maybe some that will even be selected for the Palm' d'Or. But what truly brings the crowd in is that aside from the films, you might be able to get a glimpse of your favorite actor for real. Celebrities, actors, actresses, models, and all those other folks who live on the lap of luxury come to celebrate too. So if you plan on taking part in this festival, please ensure that you make reservations in advance as, you could probably guess, everything is bound to be fully booked.
Festival d'Avignon
If you happen to be in the county in the month of July, go to Avignon and you will be in for an artistic treat. Not only is this festival one of the most famous, but it is also one of the oldest as well. This festival is just full of art, music, dance, theater, and cinema all happening in over 20 different venues. But one of the main features is certainly the Palais des Papes.
Nice Carnival
February is an additional fine month for festivities in France. In the south east coast of the county, you could celebrate along with the locals, and a whole lot of travelers, for 2 straight weeks the Nice Carnival. Imagine- floats, puppets, parades, and great french food. And of course all of the dancing, music, and fireworks too. One tip though, you better make reservations ahead of time. Just imagine how fatigued you will be after all of the fun.
Aside from these 3, there are a whole lot of other great festivals in France that happen throughout the year. So here are a few more- The Grenoble Jazz fest in March, Versailles in May, and Tour de France from June to July. Plus, let's not forget all of the other major holidays that the whole world celebrates, like Christmas and new year.
